Carolyn Templeton went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 15, 2018. She was born on June 5, 1942, in Grant Town, WV to Norman and Ruth Mitchell and was the third of nine children.
She graduated from Fairview High School in 1960 and then moved to Akron, Ohio where she met the love of her life, Herman Templeton Jr. They married and had one son Guy Angelo Templeton Sr.
Carolyn and Herman were faithful members of Prayer Tower C.O.G.I.C. until 1988 when they followed their calling to start Thompson Memorial C.O.G.I.C. (Now H. Templeton Ministries) where she remained a member until her passing.
Carolyn was loved by her H. Templeton Ministries church family and was well known for her cooking and baking. Together she and Pastor Herman Templeton were servants to the community organizing parades and events in the combat against the War on Drugs campaign as well as several food drives for those who were disadvantaged.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Herman Templeton Jr., parents Norman and Ruth Mitchell, and siblings, Lonnie, Clarence and Odessa Mitchell.
Carolyn leaves her family to cherish her memory; son, Guy (Lisa) Templeton; grandchildren Angela (Emon) Satterwhite, Tiffany (Willis) Glass, Guy (LaToiya) Templeton Jr. and Annalise Templeton; special daughter Candy Moorer; six great-grandchildren, Mekiah & Mariah Patrick, Tye, Zuri and Simon Glass, and Little Miss Kennedy Templeton; sisters, Arlena White, Selma (Bae Bae) Merchant and Sarah (Adell) Oden; two brothers, John (Edna) Mitchell and Paul (Janie) Mitchell; five brothers-in-law, Willie (Kathy) Templeton, Alfred (Charlene) Templeton, Johnny (Corrine) Templeton and Kenneth Watson; four sisters-in-law, Marlene Mitchell, Stella Mitchell, Ruth (James) Porter and Norma Jean Curry and a host of adoring nieces, nephews, church family, and friends.
