I didn't know Derek well during our school years. Facebook came along and we became FB friends about 5 years ago. All I have to say is that now that I have gotten to see what a wonderful, thoughtful, uplifting, funny, kind and all-around great person Derek was, I wish I could have known him and be his friend back in school and all the years since. He surely has made an impression on me and so many other people who have grown to love him. I will miss him tremendously. If people who knew him only through Facebook will miss him so very much, I can surely understand how his family and those he was close with outside of Facebook will miss him even more. I believe we will meet one day in heaven, until then, I know that Derek will watch over his precious family and friends, cheer with us on good days, and cry with us on bad ones. Derek was the definition of a gentleman. I hope Heaven has some slots, keno, and TV's with Cleveland sports playing! I will remember him always. To his family, please accept my deepest sympathy. I pray that God wraps his arms of comfort around you and brings you strength and peace during this sad and difficult time. May your memories of Derek replace your grief as the years go by and know that he will be watching over you until you meet again one day in heaven

Mr @ Mrs. W. Jackson, Vershoun, Patrick. My heart and prayers go out to you and your families. Derek transition to Glory came unexpected but know that when God call us, it's our time. What will be missed is the body but know that Derek spirit is very much alive and will remain alive in each one of you. I remember when Mrs. Jackson was pregnant with Derek, and meeting Derek as an infant and seeing him grow during his young child years as your neighbor was pleasant time and blessed to have shared that time of our life with him and his sister Vershoun. Derek was a man that was well liked, loved, respected, by many and will be missed in the body but remember all the ones he touch will always be able to feel his spirit. Derek life on this earth was well lived as he has earn his wings to Glory. Job well Done! The Jackson Family, Stay lifted in Jesus Name. I Love You, @ Peace to You All.
