Don D. Wilcher Jr. was lovingly known as “DonDon” was born on August 1, 1990, in Cleveland, Ohio. He passed away suddenly on July 7, 2018, at the age of 27.
“DonDon” played for the Tallmadge Junior Varsity Basketball team where they remained undefeated before transferring to Buchtel High School. He lettered in Basketball when they went to the Regional Championship before losing his 2007-2008 year. With that accomplishment, he received an award for the most rebounds that year. He later earned his GED and attended The University of Akron Wayne College. He played the position of Center and helped lead Wayne College to several victories during the time he played. “DonDon” loved being outdoors, fishing, watching sports and playing cards. He had the charisma that would light up any room when he entered and loved telling stories and making people laugh. If you ever tried to tell a story wrong he would let you know you were telling it wrong, make you be quiet, and proceed to tell it right.
“DonDon” was an excellent father to his children. He loved them as much as life itself. He will truly be missed by everyone that has ever come across his path in life. He left us too soon.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Darlene Matthews, Richard Wilcher, Sr. and Charlie Catron. “DonDon” is survived by his grandmother Evelyn Catron, mother Valerie Wilcher, father Don D. Wilcher Sr. (Bernadette); children Don D. Wilcher III, Alena Wilcher and Nasier Butler; sisters, Monisha Walker (Jaye), Cassie Mohring (Brian), and Dana Eisenmann (Kris) mother of his children Antionette Badea; favorite uncle James Wilcher along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousin, relatives and friends.
