Mattie Louise peacefully entered heaven’s gates on April 18, 2018, to join her husband, Preston Lee Andrus Sr and to live eternally forever with the Lord.

Mattie lived a long, blessed life with family and friends. Her unforgettable laugh will always be with us. Her heart was always filled with love for everyone she met along the way.

Mattie was born in Akron, OH on January 5, 1926, to the late John Henry and Mattie Powers. She graduated from East High and then married the love of her life, Preston Lee Andrus, Sr.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Preston Lee Andrus, Sr., Her 11 brothers, and sisters; Banks, Jonathan, Jerden, Henry, William, Walter, Ben, Eddie, Annie, and Carol.  Granddaughter Tanishia Andrus, Great-Grandson, Deandre Andrus.

She leaves to cherish her loving children; Preston (Jenett) Andrus Sr., Anthony Andrus, Anita (Dennis) Milan, Phillip W. Andrus, Dessena Andrus, Jackie (Ron) Jackson, Harriet Harrison, all of Akron, OH., Barbara (Cleve) Gastil, of Houston, Texas. A host of Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren and Great-Great-Grandchildren; Sister in Laws, Eula Powers, and Louise Dartest, of Louisana; Daughter in law, Marsha Andrus; Special Family, Vivian Price, Jim (Lucille) Hamilton, and Dorothy Fullmore; and a host of other loving Family and Friends.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018, at the House of Prayer for all People, 69 S Balch St, Akron, OH 44302. Family will receive friends and family from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Services immediately following. Pastor R. Stacey Jenkins officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park.
