Carolyn J. Wilson Alati was born September 2, 1946 in Lake Providence Louisiana to Ruby and Walter Wilson.
She was educationed in the Akron Public School system; and graduated from Hower Vocational High School with commercial art as her vocational focus. Carolyn was an accomplished artist in the Akron area.
Carolyn worked in sales for O’Neil’s department store, Kaughman’s Department store and retired from Macy’s Department Store in 2017. Carolyn greeted each customer with a smile and made them feel as if they were her favorite customer, because it was true.
Carolyn was more concerned about others than herself. Her kind words, loving acts, and beautiful paintings and sketches are her legacy. She felt that her greatest success in life was her family.
Carolyn was the matriarch of her family. She was always available to offer encouragement and unconditional love. Carolyn was preceded in death by parents Walter and Ruby Wilson and goddaughter, Lisa Jackson. Carolyn is survived by her husband of 52 years, Peter; four children Pierre “Sean” Alati,(Ebony Brooks), Shannon (Charles) Parks, DeAirre (Gail) Alati, and DeOndra (Ed) Smith; godchildren William and Michelle Harris; brothers George Lowe and Ken (Tonie) Wilson; grandchildren, Pierre Alati, Jr.( Jasmine Aexis), Tyne Alati, Dartalia Alati, Paige Alati (Dylan Alati), Shayla and Justin Smith, DeAirre Alati, Jr., Daniel Alati, Mya Richardson, Deanna Alati; and 2 great- grandchildren, Pierre Alati III and KaiLonna Scott; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
Carolyn we look forward to being together again. We love you eternally.
