Lucas Campbell passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2019.
Lucas Campbell (aka Bud) was the youngest of eleven children born to Luther and Marie Campbell, and a twin of Lucius Campbell. He began life at St. Thomas Hospital in Akron, Ohio and graduated in 1969 as class president from South High School.
Lucas was one of the first Afro-American bank tellers in Akron and went on to work for Allegheny Airlines (aka US Airways, American Airlines), and later moved to Chicago, Illinois to work for United Airlines.
He had a pleasant, positive and progressive attitude towards life and was dearly loved by family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all those he touched with his generous heart.
Lucas was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lucius (twin), Charles and Bobby Campbell; sisters, Joanne Ray, Rosa Bourne, Annette Young, and Aretha Campbell; brothers-in-law, Edward Jones, and Hugh Bourne.
He leaves to cherish his memory, brothers, Jeremiah (Maria) of Akron; sisters, Jessie L. Jones of Dayton, Ohio, Sherrylon Adams of Akron; in-laws, Aaron Ray of Tallmadge, Ohio, Vance Young of Copley, Ohio, Aria Campbell of Norton, Ohio, Geraldine Campbell of Staten Island, N.Y, Sonia Campbell of North Canton, OH.; special cousin/brother Dexter and Jordan Campbell; many nephews, nieces, cousins; special friends and a host of other relatives and friends.
