Almighty God Allah called one of his solders, Moses Abdul Karim (Young), home. Our dad departed this life on Saturday, June 8, 2019. He suffered with his illness for 12 years.
He was born on July 7, 1932 and raised in Akron, Ohio and worked several labor jobs. He retired from RJS Auto Parts. “Dad” loved bowling. He bowled for fifty years, until he began dialysis treatments, which he hated. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and talking with special nieces, Patty and Trina and special friend, Diane.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Bell and George Young; his wife, the love of his life, Nancy Karim; his sons, Harold Wright (“Wee-Wee”) and Moses Karim, Jr.; daughter, Deborah King; his twin brother, Mark Young and his longtime, special friend of over 30 years, Aretta Roberts. Our father had 12 siblings; 7 sisters, all deceased and 5 brothers, all deceased. He was the last of his immediate 14-member family. He was the patriarch of his remaining family members who loved, honored and respected him. He will be missed.
He leaves to mourn his memory sons, Anthony of Akron, Darnell (Darlene) of California, Wallace (Vanessa) of Akron, Sharrieff of Akron; Vicki of Akron, Nancy of Stone Mountain, Georgia; first 3-born grandchildren, Tynetta, DeAndre and Marcellous; 15 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces nephews and friends. A special thanks to “Dad” from his daughter-in-law, Darlene, for being the father she never had, since their meeting in 1979. (Darlene’s Mom became a mother-figure to Darnell.) An additional special “thank you” to his son-in-law, Phenly King, aka “Sug.”
Our dad will be laid atop our mother for their eternal rest. They are back together again, after being apart for 42 years.
“As-Salam-u-Alaikum,” Mom and Dad, from all of us.
