Mother Joyce (Granny) Austin went home to be with the Lord on January 6, 2019.  Joyce was born to the late Earnest and Julie Smith on August 17, 1941, in Akron, Ohio the younger of 2.

She graduated from Akron Central High School in 1959. Joyce was a devoted lifetime Christian, she was a very faithful loving mother of Christ Is the Answer Ministries where she served the last 16 years on the Mother’s Board before becoming the Mother of the Church.  She was a faithful tither, and server, but her greatest claim was starting a soup kitchen for those in need.

She worked at Brecksville V.A. Hospital for 22 years, where she made many lifetime friends.  She loved bowling, traveling, and serving the Lord.  She really loved her family.

She was preceded in death by husband Winston Austin Sr. brother William Lane, Mother Julia Smith, and father Earnest Smith.

She leaves to cherish children; son Winston Austin Jr; daughters Helen (Derek) Smoot, Jaqueline (Darryl) Truitt, Wendy (Larry) Robinson, Kelly (Tina) Austin, Tracey (Demetrius) Dudley, Julie Austin, very special granddaughter Sherrica (Alex) Austin, special niece Gwendolyn Hawkins, special son-in-law Lawrence Bell; grandchildren, Tionna (Emmanuel) Dubose, Latisha Turner, Jaqueline Truitt, Tacora Roper, and Edna Robinson, Darryl Truitt Jr, Winston Austin III, Tyme Austin, Jordan Beck, Maurice Anthony, Tyrel Earnest, Theodore Brooks, Malachi Austin, JMichael Austin, Demetrius Dudley Jr, and a host of family & friends.

She loved all & all loved her!!
