Opal Mae Green was born June 6, 1932 in Akron, Ohio, to the union of Linton and Lettie Bell. She departed this life on March 17, 2019 surrounded by her loving family.
Opal was educated in the Akron public school system. A caregiver at heart, she earned her degree in nursing and worked as an RN for St. Thomas Hospital for 25 years.
Opal was preceded in death by her loving parents; husband, William Green; children, Harold G. Ford and Karen A. Ford; granddaughter, Renee Matthews; and Harold M. Ford.
She leaves to cherish and carry on her legacy her children, Beverly Matthews, Charlynn Petway, Andrea Ford, and Charles (Kelly) Ford; 4 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren; brother, Elder Charles Bell; special friend, Dorothy Jackson; and a host of relatives and friends.
