Rev. Morace McMiller, Sr. made his peaceful transition from labor to reward after a long illness on September 15, 2018. He was born in Poland, GA on March 28, 1939. Morace attended Akron Public Schools and graduated from South High School. He served in the United States Air Force for four years, and retired from Chrysler Corporation, Twinsburg, OH in 1999 with 35 ½ years of service. He was an active member of United Auto Workers, Local 122 where he was the Chaplin and worked in the benefits office.
After being ordained to preach the gospel he then graduated from Moody Bible Institute Evening Division. He was called to Pastor St. Thomas Missionary Baptist Church for twelve years. At the time of his death he served as Senior Associate Minister at Antioch Baptist Church, Akron, OH.
He was preceded in death by his parents Irvin McMiller and Anna L. Clay; son Morace McMiller, Jr.; and sister Ora L. Anderson. He leaves to mourn his devoted wife of 52 years, Pamela McMiller of Coventry Township, OH; daughters Felicia McMiller of Cuyahoga Falls, OH and Candace (Justin) Hilton of Brimfield, OH; the apple of his eye, his granddaughter Milan E. Hilton; sisters, Dr. Janie Wheeler of Lawrenceville, GA and Patricia (Michael) Jackson of Woodbridge, VA; brothers, John Clay of Akron, OH, Marvin Clay of Akron, OH, and Olin (Nancy) Clay, Jr. of Canton, OH; Godson Donell Phipps of Akron, OH; caregiver Kimberly Dampier of Akron, OH; and a host of family, friends, and the Antioch Baptist Church family.
