Vivian's warm and influencing manner always influenced those around her and made working with her such an enjoyable experience. Her time as the 4th National President of Black Data Processing Associates ( BDPA ) was a testament to her organizational leadership skills as well as her one-on-one basic people skills. I certainly enjoyed her company and the company of the Wilson family. From time to time - I could certainly use a good BDPA Hug. ( Smile ). Much love to the Wilson Family.

On behalf of Rainbow Family Christian Center, Pastor Horace and I extend deepest, heartfelt condolences to Tracey the entire family. Though our hearts long to have her with us, Vivian has transitioned from life to life and what a great celebration! We can see her with her index finger and thumb pointing up saying, "Well you know where I am, and you know I wouldn't trade where I am for anything.” Vivian was a part of our Rainbow Family since our beginning in 1996 and attended services when she had an opportunity to visit Maryland. We thank God for the privilege of knowing her since 1985 and seeing her Godly character, even when others mistreated her. We were honored that Vivian included us in her family. We got to share memories with her mom, her husband, her daughter and grandchildren. She was a powerful woman of God with a gentle spirit. Vivian was an exemplary example of Christ and the consummate professional in every way. She was an extraordinary, rare gift and we will miss her, but forever hold her in our hearts. May God continue to bless and comfort you. We love you.

Traci I love you and the whole family. My condolences on your mother’s transition I have sat where you sit and know your pain. I loved loved Sister Vivian and his been my pleasure to have attended to nursing needs the times that I cared for her while hospitalized, and it was my honor for her to have coined me her “Angel Nurse”! Ms Vivian was the epitome of grace and poise, I miss seeing her display these attributes on Sunday mornings already. Our years with her at the Karamu House were special times and memories will not be forgotten. May God grant you and the family comfort and peace for we know she is resting in his arms!

It was my gain to have known Vivian from school days and later as a co-worker at Karamu. Will remember her as kind, caring and always with a beautiful smile. Prayers and deepest sympathy

Marie and family, may the God of compassion and all comfort bring you peace today and the days ahead. My fondest memories of Vivian were made while serving at the BDPA conferences. She was a great example of a servant leader. Vivian would often visit the conference command center to see how we were doing. If we needed anything, Vivian would make it happen. She clearly understood that taking good care of the conference team meant we would take good care of the conference attendees. Vivian was the same no matter the setting, be it professional or personal. I was blessed to fellowship with her in both. Vivian was a great leader, but more importantly, she was a caring, kind, and compassionate friend. She will be missed.

Mrs. Vivian Wilson was a very special lady and loved by everyone who knew her. Please know that we share in your grief and extend our deepest sympathy to the Wilson & Wimberly family.

Vivian was my sister by another mother. We had a special sister bond. She will remain in that special place in my heart forever. May you rest in heavenly peace my sister for a job well done. Love you.

Vivian was a great leader of whom I had the pleasure of meeting at a BDPA board meeting in California in 1994. She was motherly and very firm as a leader. She was admired by all if he organization’s members and made you feel like you and your opinion were both of value. It would be years in between but she always responded and said hello. Our meeting shaped and helped me be the volunteer leader I am today, as I never forgot how she lead people with grace, accountability and motivation. My condolences to the family as I know her physical presence will be missed.

Clara and I were a part of each others lives for over fifty years. It would take a book for me to share our memories. Living in two different states we did not see each other much. I will always remember our last in person time together in Orlando Florida. My fondest memory of that visit is our time at Disney's Animal Kingdom. We were like two children’s riding in our scooters laughing and having fun. I thank God for the time that we had to share and we’ll always remember her beautiful smile and laughter. Rest in peace Clara knowing that you are loved and missed.

I owe Mrs Wilson a hugh debt of gratitude for introducing me to the world of computers and data processing through BDPA. She was a mentor and just a beautiful person to have in your life. My prayers are with you. Vivian was my favorite person in the box office at Karamu for years. She always amazed me at how well she could remember everyone's name. She seemed to know everyone in the theater. She was always a troubleshooter for me when I'd have problems with my subscription. I saw her at the last play I attended at Karamu She sat next to me in the handicapped section, worrying the whole time that her ride might leave her since they were sitting in regular seats. Vivian's smile and her always cheerful spirit will be missed.

It is with great sorrow that I have to draft a few notes here. Last year, I ran into Vivian and Marie at a rehab facility, as they were researching a facility for Mr. Wilson. I remember the big smile and charming greeting, as always. Vivian rest in peace and family cherish the precious moments that you shared.

Clare was my aunt but more like a sister. She was family but also my best friend I looked up to her as my first female role model she was a lady and an amazing career woman Vivian excelled at every work endeavor put before her. Clare taught me a strong work ethic , she also showed me the way to our Lord and savior. I loved her dearly and will miss her so much but God loved her more and called her home. Rest in peace auntie I love you.

My deepest condolences go out to Marie and all of Vivian's family. May you celebrate a life well lived. I met Vivian 30 years ago when I joined BDPA. She had an endearing quality that drew people to her instantly. She was my earliest example of a woman of color in leadership. She got you to get things done in a timely and professional manner - without you even knowing it. Vivian was a mentor and friend that always appeared to care about what was happening in everyone's life. I remember an inside story of how she nicknamed me "Wide Latin", a font we both liked for newsletter headings, because I am from Latin America and I suppose my girth. Nonetheless, I wore that nickname with pride. Vivian will live forever in our hearts!

Personally, we met at Ohio Bell in 1972, reacquainted in 1987, and became business partners in the late 90's with Gerry McClamy - The McWill Group made an impact in supporting tourism in our beloved hometown of Cleveland and traveling the country together. I met Ms. Vivian through her niece Ms. Althea and her daughter Tracey. My heart goes out and my prayers everyday is to uplift this family. She was a christian woman in all aspects of God's word to Love, Share and spend the word of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I will miss seeing you and singing in your present giving God the Glory that He is due. Hearing about your hair salon visits or just talking about events that happen over the weekend. Missing your smile and laughter, you now belong to the King of Kings eternally. I am glad for just a moment that you were here to share and shine your light on so many people. I had the pleasure of knowing Vivian while she was part of Karamu. She was dedicated to Karamu's success, a caring, kind person. Sorry to hear she's passed away. Condolences to her family. Peace...

I'll always remember seeing Vivian working in the Karamu business office; As I would pass her office, she would great me with a smile and say, "Hello Iris". I believe we went to John Hay High School; please correct me if I'm wrong. Vivian was the driving force towards the success of Karamu. Thanks Vivian for your behind the scene work and help. My condolences to the Wilson family. Dear Vivian, my ole Karamu house buddy. After making sure all our "I's" were dotted and "T's" were cross, she made sure lunch and dinner time was theatre family joy. All the laughter... I will remember your smile, dear lady.

It was with great sorrow that I received notice of the death of Vivian. Vivian was an incredibly special lady! I met Vivian through our membership in Black Data Processing Associates, an organization created, in 1975, to prepare African American and other minority youth for careers in Information Technology and to affect the upward mobility of African Americans and other minorities already in the IT industry. Vivian made an impact almost immediately upon joining BDPA and rose quickly to delivering that impact to the national level of the organization. In 1986, she received the first "Board of Directors National Outstanding Member of the Year". Vivian was elected National Vice-President in 1987 and elevated to National President, by election, in 1989. There have been 18 National Presidents of BDPA, eight have been women of color. Vivian was the 4th BDPA National President and the first female National President. Of all the past Presidents, I believe Vivian had the greatest impact on the organization! She had a way of making every member she met, her friend and part of the BDPA family. She introduced the “BDPA hug” that continues to be demonstrated to this day by the membership! The greatest increase in admitted BDPA Chapters occurred under Vivian’s presidency! She was organized and a true professional. After her 2 terms as president, Vivian and her developed team continued to contribute to BDPA by successfully organizing and conducting the organization’s Annual National Conferences until 1996. Although not active in BDPA the past several years, there is no doubt that Vivian loved the organization and its objectives. It is also true that BDPA loved Vivian. Earl Pace BDPA Co-Founder
