I am very sad to learn of the passing of Doris Gibson. She and I shared a grandson, DYLAN. Every time we would see each other at a store or in passing, we would always say, "hey, Dylan's grandmother" and we would talk or smile and keep going. At his graduation we both said "that's our baby". She spoiled him and so did I. When he would tell me and his mom that he was going over to his grandparents for the holiday because his grandmother was cooking him all his favorites. I loved her as well and will miss her. I am praying for Mr. Gibson, Chuck, Marlin and the rest of her family to find peace in the wonderful memories and love she had for all of you. May God bless and cover each of you in his arms.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garments of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified. (Is 61:3) My love and deepest sympathy to the family of my friend Doris. She will be missed.

Doris is my true friend from childhood. I was in the 4th grade when I met her. We lived two houses from each other on East 117th Street. She has been a true friend and a friend in deed. I will certainly miss my friend, our regular talks and her sisterly support and advise. What a pleasant spirit who is now resting in the arms of Our Lord. My sincere blessings and condolences.

Doris and I lived on the same street in early childhood and not seen each other in maybe 30 years. I came in to CVS on Mayfield/Green one day when she was working and we remembered each other and a new friendship grew. She was always smiling and the conversations were pleasant and encouraging. It was great to start a new friendship with a childhood friend. She was so genuine! I was blessed to have meet Doris twice. My condolences to her family.
