Emory Grimes, age 78, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2019. He was born on February 12, 1941 to Sarah and Thomas Major, who preceded him in death, in Monroe, Georgia.
Emory was raised by his aunts and uncles. As an adult, he worked with the railroad company. His favorite past time was playing cards and gambling.
He was preceded in death by his son, Emory, Jr.; his brothers, sisters and grandson, Anthony L. Grimes.
He is survived by his ex-wife, Claudette Grimes; children, Anthony (Anish) Grimes, Michael (Nicole) Grimes and Jeff Pope; step-children, Eric, Andre and Cynthia; grandchildren, Dream Williams, Antwan Grimes, Antwanette Grimes, Antonio Grimes, Anton Grimes, Ebony Grimes, Ashley Grimes, Emory Grimes, Shanika Kemp, Shanna Grimes, Jasmine Davis, Charray Grimes, Mierra Grimes, Malik Grimes, Mikiela Grimes, Michael Grimes, Jr.; his significant other, Anita Shade; special cousin, Emory Lee Grimes (aka “Mulehead”); special niece, Deshawn Moore; aunts, uncles, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other family members and friends.
