Nwamaka Nkolika Dallah-Kelly was born on June 11, 1977 in Detroit Michigan to two immigrant parents Ephraim and Christiana Dallah from the Igbo tribe in Nigeria.
Amaka was an educated woman who demanded nothing but excellence of herself. She graduated with honors from Albert Einstein Elementary School, Eleanor Roosevelt Middle School and Oak Park High School in Oak Park, MI, where she graduated in 1994.
Post High School, Amaka attended Michigan State University (“MSU”). She graduated from MSU in 1999 with an Engineering Degree. After graduating from MSU, Amaka got a job with General Motors (“GM”) working as an Engineer at the GM Warren Tech Center. She excelled at GM. She worked on various engineering projects.
In 2003, Amaka relocated from Oak Park, MI to Cleveland, OH. She accepted a position with the City of Cleveland Water Department in their Engineering Department as a Lead Engineer. She would later earn her MBA from a local University in Cleveland while working at the Water Department. She would eventually rise to the rank of Manager within her department.
In addition, she joined Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. in 2004. She was very active with the sorority and was an active member of the Alpha Omega Chapter (Cleveland, OH), where she recently held a leadership position.
While in Ohio, Amaka met Eric Thomas Kelly. Eric and Amaka would eventually get married on October 10, 2010 in Cleveland, OH. She and Eric were married over 9 years. They spent all 9 plus years of marriage together in the Cleveland/Akron areas. They had a good relationship together until Amaka’s last day on earth.
On, July 7, 2019, God called Amaka to be re-united with her mother Mrs. Christiana Dallah in Heaven. She is survived by husband, Eric Thomas Kelly; father, Ephraim Dallah; brothers, Jideofor (Maya) Dallah, Olisaeloka (Tiffany) Dallah; mother-in-law, Thomasine Kelly; goddaughter, Erica Igwe; nieces and nephews, Christopher Rogers, Jr., Micah Rogers, Saraya Dallah, Christian Dallah, Emmanuel Dallah and Collin Dallah. And a host of aunts, uncles and cousins from the Kelly, Dallah, Egbuonu, Okudo and Ubadiniru families. In addition, extended family members from the Umuoku and Umuoyeaku families.
Amaka will be tremendously missed by everyone! Nwamaka will forever be loved into eternity by everyone!
