Robert A. Williams was born on May 16, 1945, in Barberton, Ohio to the union of the late Alma Jean and Lewis Williams.
Robert was employed by Dominion, retiring in 2000. He was an avid sports fan, coaching, and filming games. He was inducted into the Barberton Hall of Fame receiving the OC Barber Award. Robert was one of Akron’s finest barbers for over 50 years.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Alma Jean and Lewis, along with his other father, Willie Welch; sisters, Carol Ann Byrd and Betty Miller; grandparents, John and Artie Shipp; aunts, Edith Perdue and Eunice Frye.
He leaves to cherish his memory, wife, Janet; daughter, Delina Dubose of Atlanta, GA; sons, Terrence (Tia) Polk of Akron, OH and Brandon (Diana) Polk of Anna, TX; grandchildren, Taelor, Donae, Taniyah, Terrence II and Ashli; brothers, Willie Welch, Gary (Nona) Welch, Leonard (Amanda) Welch, Rodney Welch, Anthony (Yvonne) Welch; sisters, Phyllis Welch, Louise Welch, Janice (Allen) Chambers; mother-in-law, Irene Polk; sisters-in-law, Ruth Patterson and Ann Burros; brothers-in-law, RL (Dana) Polk, Ernest (Nellie) Polk, Larry (Mildred) Saulsberry and Ellis (Carla) Polk; uncles, Charles (Ruby) Bibby and John (Mildred) Bibby; devoted niece, Beverly Douglas; special friends, John (Adele) Veal, Leon (Yolanda) Bates, Hommel Calhoun, Lamont (Dollie) Davis and a host of other family and friends.
